Cartier Juste un Clou : A Legacy of Boldness

Cartier Juste un Clou was originally designed in 1970s by Aldo Cipulo debuted in Cartier New York as the "Nail Bracelet". It symbolized the rebellious attitude of the time, transcending tradition and proclaiming the wearer's individuality. The revival of the bracelet in the 2000s cemented its status as an icon, and it became officially "Juste un Clou", which in French means "Just a Nail".

The purity of line defines the design, taking an everyday object and turning it into a treasured piece of jewellery. The design of the Juste un Clou bracelet is exposed in a single, uncompromising line. Cartier's insistence on distilling the piece back to its essence—its structure—means that it is easy to comprehend and immediately recognizable.

The beauty of of the bracelet lies in its sparseness with no clutter and distraction.
Throughout the years, the Cartier Juste un Clou collection has diversified into different iterations and materials, including yellow, white, and rose gold, and diamond-set models. The innovations have kept the collection current and attractive while still retaining the character of its unique design.

The long-standing popularity of the Cartier Juste un Clou collection, its cutting-edge design, and connection to luxury and celebrity have rendered it a worthwhile investment for collectors. With time, the worth of some Juste un Clou pieces has increased exponentially, fueled by limited supply, strong demand, and the collection's high-end reputation. This investment value has only added to the Juste un Clou collection's popularity among collectors and the wealthy, who are looking for physical assets that have artistic design, craftsmanship, and potential financial gain.

Closure Mechanism

Curious on how to open and lock hour Juste un  lou bracelet because the design is so sleek and does not have any visible clasps or screws. Small and classic size has a huge difference when wearing it. The Aldo design on closure retained in the classic size while the small size has no closure mechanism at all. Here’s a picture comparisom for your
reference:

Meanwhile, Juste Un Clou bracelets prior to 2017 have a different closure mechanism. The previous version has a push-lock clasp that hooks onto the band. The biggest difference of the new closure is the new "button" clasp underneath the nail head. When pushed, the button opens the bracelet. Here's the step by step procedure on opening and closing the new version of Juste un Clou:

 - Find the head of the nail
 - Press for a small clasp underneath
 - Position your thumb on the nailhead and your finger underneath the ridged part
 - Push down gently on the clasp and push away the nailhead from the rest of the bracelet
 - Push both ends of the bracelet together to lock closed. You will hear a 'click' sound.

Even though its design appears to be straightforward, the Juste un Clou collection radiates a sense of boldness, uniqueness, and contemporaneity. The collection includes bracelets, rings, necklace, earrings, pin and other items. Design-wise, all of the items are uniform throughout the line, but each one has its own interpretation of the nail silhouette.
